The Sr. Plant Process Engineer provides leadership, direction, and technical expertise to a team of maintenance and engineering professionals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role oversees mechanical, electrical, and chemical process systems to ensure equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The position is responsible for coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting process improvements, and managing day-to-day priorities across multidisciplinary teams. Acting as a bridge between management and frontline staff, the Sr. Plant Process Engineer drives accountability, fosters continuous improvement, and ensures that all engineering functions align with production goals and organizational objectives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Direct, supervise, and develop team members within the engineering department. (i.e. Chemical processors, Millwrights, & Electronic Technicians)

  • Assign daily work schedules, set priorities, and ensure timely completion of maintenance and engineering tasks.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of production support equipment including, but not limited to washers, coaters, and dryers.

  • Apply mechanical and electronic knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize plant equipment and automation systems.

  • Implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.

  • Maintain spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available to support uninterrupted operations.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for both mechanical and electrical systems in the plant.

  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors for equipment upgrades, modifications, and specialized repairs.

  • Provide training and technical guidance to team members on equipment, processes, and safety protocols.

This position is in our Milwaukee Wisconsin facility.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • 3-5 years experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong background in mechanical systems, electronics/automation, and chemical processes.

  • Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, CAD, and other project management software.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA safety standards and proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

  • Ability to comprehend pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schematics.

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, food safety standards, and environmental controls.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control standards.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $104,400 to $117,450, plus a quarterly target bonus of 12.5% of base salary.
