At JLL, we are driving sustainability through everything that we do, across all service lines and job positions. Specifically, we are growing our Sustainability practice to drive end-to-end sustainability solutions in real estate, from site selection to decommissioning.

In this role, you will work directly with a client's sustainability team, supporting energy and sustainability goals, targets, and initiatives. As a member of the JLL Sustainable Operations team with a deep knowledge of the needs of our client's program, you will ensure our sustainability and energy services are effectively and efficiently delivered. You will act as an accelerator, enabling our client to increase engagement across stakeholders, progress towards goals, and realize success with building performance. You will ensure program integration and implementation across business/functions throughout the real estate lifecycle to achieve scope of work delivery and goals. This role requires strategic implementation and aprogrammatic approach to embed sustainability thinking and practices into real estate functional aspects.

While a remote-based role, this position may require periodic travel and/or in-office presence as directed by the client.

What this job involves

  • Develop and execute energy and sustainability management strategyfor a client's real estate portfolio, implementing programs to reach energy, waste, and water savings goals and targets by identified timelines.
  • Drive operational performance improvements through the identification and implementation of energy optimization and improved maintenance opportunities.
  • Manage identification and prioritization of energy and sustainability capital projects.
  • Oversee waste management strategies to support our client's waste reduction goal.
  • Manage the evaluation of financial viability of projects for budgeting and approval.
  • Provide clear and concise reporting of all energy and sustainability activities, metrics (cost savings, energy, water, waste), and achievements on prescribed intervals or as requested by client.
  • Communicate plans and progress to all levels of staff through presentations and meetings.
  • Advise, coach, and support building staff (facility managers, engineers, technicians) in identifying, scoping, and implementing energy efficiency improvements.
  • Be a subject matter expert in energy and sustainability to provide expertise, as needed.
  • Collaborate with other JLL energy and sustainability managers to learn best practices and publish case studies developed on client account for the benefit of all firm clients.
  • Effectively network cross-functionally to collaborate with other JLL service lines on the account (technology, finance, projects, IFM, consultants, and procurement) to elevate the sustainability mission and objectives, and drive implementation where most organic within the business.
  • Establish a positive rapport with both JLL and client staff and management to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Proactively learn new technologies and strategies to keep energy and sustainability service products leading-edge.
  • Demonstrate robust communication, drive innovation, and integrate feedback to remove roadblocks and leverage opportunities
  • Work cross-functionally to achieve success with energy and sustainability initiatives aligned with the scope of work.

Requirements - Essential

  • University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields)and 5+ years of experience with energy conservation, water conservation, energy management, waste management, sustainability management, program management, or energy engineering.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation and control systems across a variety of building types.
  • Working knowledge of water and waste reduction strategies for commercial buildings.
  • Expertise in building energy efficiencies and decarbonization
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; Experience presenting information to all levels of management.
  • Ability to multi-task, effectively organize responsibilities, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter, team player, with ability to bring alternate points of view to the discussion and analysis.
  • Some experience in project management and leadership is preferred.

Estimated compensation for this position:

75,000.00 - 100,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
