We are seeking a Skilled Software Developer in Johnston, RI, with proven experience in Java server-side development and experience in developing applications using C++. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science, including an understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles, with expertise in J2EE, EJBs, Hibernate, JPA, ActiveMQ, and JMS, combined with hands-on experience in relational databases. This role requires the ability to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade applications while ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a global development team, participate in requirements analysis, software design, implementation of software solutions and services for data management and visualization. * Design, develop, and maintain Java server-side applications using J2EE technologies, including EJBs, Hibernate, JPA, ActiveMQ, and JMS. * Implement enterprise messaging and persistence frameworks for scalable solutions. * Work with relational databases, including MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL, and MySQL, for database design, optimization, and integration. * Experience in developing applications using C++ / advanced C++ * Conduct code reviews, debugging, and performance testing to ensure high-quality deliverables. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to meet project objectives. Qualifications: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with a strong background in computer science principles. * 5-7 years of hands-on experience in software development. * Strong expertise in Java/J2EE server-side development, including EJBs, Hibernate, JPA, ActiveMQ, JMS. * Proficiency in C++ / advanced C++ (STL, OOP, templates, multithreading, performance tuning). * Experience with relational databases: MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL, MySQL. * Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Nice to have: * Knowledge of microservices architecture and REST APIs. * Experience with cloud platforms. * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile practices. * Exposure to network programming or real-time systems. * Front-end technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS, JSP.
