Aon is hiring a US Reinsurance Broking, Associate Director to work out of our NYC office 3 days per week.

What the day will look like
  • Identifies specific client and prospect needs and develops innovative and cost-effective solutions

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of reinsurance
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with major clients to cultivate and maintain strong relationships
  • Excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external clients
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with keen negotiation, business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills, able to multitask and manage projects
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter; committed to delivering the highest in client service, quality and results
  • The ability to embrace change in support of the business unit's and company's goals
  • Proficient, if not expert knowledge and skills with Microsoft Excel or like application (e.g., programming in R or Python)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products with ability to learn and use multiple software and system-based applications
  • Professional demeanor with positive attitude
  • Ability to travel
  • A minimum of 5 years broking and/or underwriting commercial lines experience, with a focus on property and casualty insurance lines
  • A minimum of 5 years in a technical / analytical role, for example, prior work as an actuary, catastrophe modeling or capital modeling
Required education and certifications critical for the role:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a technical core a positive but not required. Examples include ACAS, FCAS, ASA, FSA, bachelors or masters in a math focused concentration, like applied statistics, mathematics, etc.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $100,000 - $140,000 USD annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan
