To ensure Tesla's overall mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy, the Tesla Energy team is bringing our world-leading battery technology to the grid. Tesla is leveraging its breakthrough firmware, electronics, test, and manufacturing capability to develop and deploy grid-connected storage at residential, industrial, and utility levels.

Tesla Energy is seeking a Sr. System Integration Engineer to own system-level firmware and software validation of next-generation industrial energy storage products. You will lead hardware, firmware, and software integration efforts, drive automated regression testing, and ensure release readiness across complex high-power systems.


What You'll Do
  • Own end-to-end system-level firmware and software validation, regression testing, and firmware release readiness for current and next-generation Tesla industrial energy storage products
  • Lead hardware, firmware, and software integration efforts, ensuring seamless cross-layer functionality across complex high-power/high-voltage systems
  • Define and drive the overall validation strategy for new features, ensuring comprehensive automated test coverage for current and future firmware releases
  • Develop and maintain scalable automated regression test suites using Python
  • Debug and resolve firmware, software, and hardware integration issues across complex systems
  • Investigate and drive resolution for field issues, performing root-cause analysis and coordinating corrective actions across teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to ensure functional, performance, safety, and compliance requirements are met
  • Drive continuous improvement in design and performance by providing data-driven feedback to design owners

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in hardware, firmware, and software integration and validation
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in complex systems
  • Experience with Python, C, C++
  • Proficiency with EE lab tools (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, CAN tools)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and surface issues within complex hardware/software systems
  • Effective communicator with the ability to drive alignment across cross-functional teams
  • Preferred: Experience with renewable energy products or electricity distribution systems
  • Preferred: Experience working with high-power (50kW+) or high-voltage (1kVDC, 480VAC) products

    Expected Compensation
    $140,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
