What you will do:

  • The primary focus of this role is to provide broad and/or deep senior technical expertise to provide specialized assistance to a specific electrical/controls issue in the Region.
  • Provide technical expertise to Area employees through training, written and verbal communication to operate, install, test, and assess company facilities in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
  • Leader in problem solving complex technical issues for multiple products and platforms.
  • Provide leadership and direction to EC Techs as required to resolve maintenance issues and as an advisor on Capital Projects.
  • Lead efforts for cost estimating, budgeting, and obtaining clear scope definitions to obtain accurate cost estimates and project definitions.
  • Responsible for scheduling, cost control and forecasting for the assigned projects and reporting these to the Region Compression Supervisor.
  • Lead Technical Staff representative for design reviews with the Projects Organization and external customers for review and approval of design criteria and construction drawing packages.
  • Formulate material bid specifications and requisitions; evaluate bids and make material selections.
  • Work with the Procurement group to order materials for on-time delivery to the job site.

Who you are:

You have:

  • 7+ years of experience along with a university degree OR 10+ years previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience
  • A proven track record to initiate and lead change, be innovative, think strategically and work well with teams but can also work independently with limited supervision
  • Broad business and technical knowledge in resolving problems, project management, finding opportunities, and has a keen awareness of interrelationships with other collaborators

You can:

  • Adapt to changing projects and resolving operational issues while adapting to changing project types, conditions and workloads
  • Show a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record that will be verified upon hire
  • Self-manage, set priorities, and establish goals as well as work effectively with others in a team environment

You are:

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and projects while working well under critical situations
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, SAP, and Electrical/Controls specific programs
  • An excellent written and verbal communicator that resides in a location that is 30 miles from the assigned work location

The following are considered assets:

  • Natural Gas Transmission experience
  • 10+ years' experience in the Electrical Controls Field and possess knowledge of electrical/controls related equipment
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and knowledgeable on new technology
  • Able to direct and coordinate the work of others while training, evaluating and recommending training for others in the electrical/controls field

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in the field with all types of weather conditions performing physically demanding activities
  • Work will include overtime, on call and travel overnight (40-50%)

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 40 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.

Company paid international relocation assistance is not offered for this role.
