Join our 32-bed Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit!

Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is an upbeat, fast-paced unit dedicated to post-op Cardiovascular patients such as CABGs. CVPCU also focuses on acute/chronic conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, afib, and STEMI patients. CVPCU works closely with Surgeons and the heart clinic to ensure their patients are able to successfully return home at discharge.

* Patient population may include: post operative cardiac and thoracic surgery, kidney failure, pulmonary issues, overdoses, arrythmias and myocardial infarctions.
* This unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision making skills
* Due to the diverse nature this unit provides numerous educational opportunities for our coworkers.

* 32 - patient bed unit
* RN ratio 3-4 patients, with tech support

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure:

  • Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program
  • Must hold and maintain a current RN license for the hiring state or hold a compact nursing license
  • Comply with all state nursing board requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout shifts
  • Capable of gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting as needed

Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required or must complete within 30 days of hire
  • Additional unit-specific certifications as required, with timelines for acquisition
