About this opportunity:

Lead and coach two varsity Overwatch rosters - practice and match scheduling, team and player instruction, and recruitment. Upholds the values of Ball State Esports and promotes a holistic competitive experience for our students. This position will be 15-18 hours per week. Work hours will predominantly be evenings and weekends.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Function:

Lead and coach two varsity Overwatch rosters - practice and match scheduling, team and player instruction, and recruitment. Upholds the values of Ball State Esports and promotes a holistic competitive experience for our students. This position will be 15-18 hours per week. Work hours will predominantly be evenings and weekends.

  • According to student availability, schedule and coordinate practices, scrimmages, replay reviews, and matches for Ball State's varsity Overwatch teams. Communicating with team members, managers, and coaches.

  • Provide instruction and coaching to Ball State's varsity Overwatch teams and occasionally, the Ball State academy Overwatch team. Coaching and instruction includes team wide meetings and individual coaching for players.

  • Assist Director and Assistant Director in recruitment of prospective Ball State students for the Overwatch team. Hold trials and tryouts for prospective students who qualify.

  • Coordinate with leagues and conferences to ensure all eligibility requirements are met for student participation.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1-2 years coaching Collegiate Rocket League teams

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with professional level Rocket League players and teams.
