Job Description: Join Our Mission As Customs Operations Officer Are you ready to take on a mission-critical role? We're launching a new global customs governance and searching for a motivated Customs Operations Officer. In this position, you'll be instrumental in driving excellence at our aviation spares distribution hubs in Dulles, VA and Miami. These warehouses are serving our local, regional and global customers with aviation spares at a high variety of services levels. Primary Responsibilities: As our Customs Operations Officer, you'll play a vital role in shaping our global customs processes. Here's what you'll be doing: * Be a Customs Expert: Work closely with our central internal teams to ensure our operational processes reflect the latest customs regulations, tariffs and trade agreements 20% * Drive Compliance Excellence: Ensure that our customs operations are executed flawlessly and in full compliance with relevant regulations and company policies 10% * Support Assurance: Lend your expertise to both internal and external compliance audits, helping us maintain our high standards 10% * Innovate & Improve: Actively identify and seize opportunities to continuously enhance our customs processes and procedures, making them even more efficient 10% * Contribute to Optimization: You'll initiate and contribute to exciting projects focused on optimizing the efficiency of our import and export customs processes 10% * Solve Challenges: Collaborate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and our internal teams to swiftly resolve any customs clearance issues that arise at the shipment level 10% * Ensure Strong Partnerships: Be an important partner in reworking the Service Level Agreement between Satair and our Customs Brokers, ensuring seamless collaboration 10% * Measure Success: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct monthly business reviews and drive corrective actions when needed 20% Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned: * * Qualified Experience and Training: Education: Required * You'll have a Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management, or equivalent qualifications backed by several years of relevant work experience Preferred * Experience: Required * Supply Chain Acumen: Minimum 3 years experience working with aerospace supply chains or global logistics networks * Proven track record in customs operations or import/ export compliance Preferred * Licensure/Certifications: Required * Preferred * U.S Customs House Brokers License or equivalent compliance and regulatory experience, is preferred Travel Required: * 10 % Domestic and International Citizenship: * Able to work in the US without a current or future need for visa sponsorship Clearance: Qualified Skills: Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Required Knowledge of US regulations pertaining to customs clearance & logistics. Project Contribution : First project management experiences are essential * Data-Driven Mindset: You have a strong affinity for data, and knowledge of data analytics tools would be a distinct plus * You are a great communicator with strong stakeholder management skills * You approaches challenges with a pro-active, structured and solution-oriented mindset * You have a keen eye for detail and strong organizational abilities * You are collaborative and adaptable, a true team player in an international setting who handles ad-hoc tasks with ease Communication Skills: Required: * Fluent in English Preferred: * French, German Technical Systems Proficiency: Required: * Systems Savvy: You're proficient with operational systems, including SAP and customs software systems, ideally gained within the aerospace or manufacturing industry Preferred: * Complexity of the Role: Level of Decision Making: * Autonomous and able to work with multiple stakeholders within Saitair / AIRBUS Organizational information: Direct Reports: Is this a people manager? # of Exempt Reports: # of Non-exempt Reports: Job Dimensions: * Nature of Contacts: * Involved in negotiation type communication related to Customs matters with internal & external parties, to include: Warehouse Operations Process and Performance Improvement Teams central Satair and Airbus Customs organizations Vendors, suppliers and carrier/freight forwarders Physical Requirements: * Onsite or remote: 60% on site and 40% remote * Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. * Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site * Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
