The SEI Wealth platform is seeking a Senior Middleware Engineer. TheWeb and IAM identity access management team is responsible for the overall availability, stability, scalability and security of the SEI Platforms and suite of products and services. You will be working hand-in-hand with other technical support, application support, development support, implementation and service teams.

What you will do:

  • Configuring high availability and providing reliability and security for web applications.
  • Collaborate with the development teams on the platform and provide recommendations and guidance on solutions where there is a strong intersection between code and system/middleware configuration.
  • Participate in process automation, optimize existing processes, developing new processes and serve as a primary technical point of contact with sponsors and stakeholders
  • Ensure that the solutions engineered and implemented in the Web/Middleware technologies meet SEI Information Security policies and standards and compliance requirements.
  • Provide Level 3 technical support to the operations team as and when required.
  • This role works in a 24/7/365 highly available, on-call environment.
  • Technical assistance and mentoring other middleware resources and team members to help them be better problem solvers.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, and/or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a production and pre-production support or management role.
  • Fundamental understanding of web based authentication systems, both single factor and multi factor.
  • Expertise in web servers like Apache, Nginx, and proxy & plugin integration with upstream components.
  • Experienced in IAM platforms such as Ping or SiteMinder and Directory Services technologies including LDAP.
  • Strong background and fundamental understanding of Linux, and basic working knowledge of networking.
  • Working knowledge of application servers or containers such as WebLogic and Docker.
  • Understanding of scripting languages like Bash, Perl and Python.
  • Candidate must demonstrate ability to work collaboratively, be able to provide direction and assistance with diagnostics and troubleshooting using critical problem solving techniques.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Apigee and Azure/AWS is a plus.
  • Solid Understanding of Web services (SOAP, REST) and web applications (Angular, Java) is a plus.
  • Must have strong team focus and client service work ethic.Strong fundamental understanding in the design, management and maintenance of internet facing web applications using webserver technologies.
  • Provide detailed root cause analysis and suggest workarounds and/or solutions for recurring issues.
  • Demonstrate project leadership to drive projects to completion by collaborating with system admins, DBA and architecture teams.
