HVAC Refrigeration Maintenance Mechanic - South Mountain Restoration Center

South Mountain Restoration Center is excited to announce an opening for an HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic, where you can leverage your skills and training in a dynamic work environment. We are in search of a motivated and dependable individual with a background in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems. Situated in the beautiful mountains near Michaux State Forest, South Mountain Restoration Center is a Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In this critical role, you will ensure that our HVAC and refrigeration systems operate smoothly and efficiently, providing a comfortable and safe environment for both residents and staff. Your expertise will play a crucial role in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems within a nursing home facility. You will be equipped with the knowledge necessary to perform both minor and major repairs on heating systems, including steam, hot water, and gas units, as well as to maintain central air conditioning units throughout the facility. Given the sensitive nature of the environment, it is essential to prioritize attention to detail and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Work schedule may change based on operational needs
• Overtime as needed
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment; or
• Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment.

Special Requirements:

• You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.
• This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
