DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the role of Farm Show Complex Equipment Operator B, you will engage in a wide range of duties that are essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment within the complex. Your responsibilities will include setting up, maintaining, and dismantling equipment for various events hosted at the facility, thereby playing a crucial role in the overall success of these gatherings. Additionally, you will be tasked with the upkeep of the complex's grounds and buildings, which encompasses equipment operation, waste management, custodial duties, general maintenance, and snow removal. The Farm Show Complex operates in a dynamic environment where meeting deadlines is vital to ensure that events are prepared and maintained to the highest standards. Your contributions will be pivotal in creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly.
  • Work hours are 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (Shift differential is $1.25 an hour), Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience or training.

Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) that is not under suspension.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
