JOB SUMMARY

This individual is responsible for mechanical assembly & electrical repair of Doble products and sub- assemblies. Support multiple disciplines across the Doble community to ensure quality and reliability of on-going and new product development. Support Doble's incoming inspection activities to ensure our commitment to meet company goals related to customer satisfaction and meet revenue objectives. Participate in qualification of mechanical and electronic components and sub-assemblies used in Doble products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Document changes to draft Engineer Assembly drawings and make knowledgeable recommendations to design changes needed to assemble internally at Doble and Contract Manufacturer
  • Perform repairs, modifications, and upgrades by either written procedures or oral instructions.
  • Ability to Document work performed.
  • Build Engineering protypes and document any changes required. There may only be oral instruction at this time from internal organization (Design, Instrumentation, Operations).
  • Ability to assemble from sample only
  • Inspect chassis, routing of wires, checking all hardware, lugs, cable connection, securing all printed circuit boards, and checking chassis for final cosmetic.
  • Understand importance of making recommendations to improve assembly process.
  • Interface directly with cross-functional Doble team members (Operations, Engineering, Test and Customer service Groups) regarding issues that affect the manufacturing assembly process, quality and reliability of our products.
  • Maintain and control the flow of materials and finish goods through the assembly process to insure inventory levels and available materials for our sales and lease schedules.
  • Instruct other assemblers or help other junior assemblers complete their assembly


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • A Minimum of four years of experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical and electrical assembly and testing.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving and identifying process and workmanship defects in support of product manufacturing, assembly and electrical testing.
  • Ability to interpret assembly drawings.
  • Ability to work with very little direction or supervision.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
  • Knowledge of Bill of Materials, Assembly drawings, waivers and Engineering Change Notices
  • Ability to design, fabricate and quality specific fixtures to help with testing of components and PCB Assemblies to support internal and external customers
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (including email and other internal databases).
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving and identifying process and workmanship defects in support of on-going and new product introduction manufacturing, assembly and electrical testing.
  • Relies on extensive experience (mechanical assembly of electronic products) to plan and accomplish tasks that can be performed internal at Doble (Special Projects across the Doble community).


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Hourly Pay Range Minimum $23.34 - Midpoint $29.04
