DIVISION - LEGAL The Legal Division represents the public interest in contested cases before the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH) and the Commission. The division also provides legal and policy advice to agency staff and the Commissioners. Looking to take the next step in your career? The Legal Division is seeking a Managing Attorney, a supervisory position responsible for performing highly advanced legal work and administrative law duties. The successful candidate will provide legal and policy advice to agency staff and leadership, manage and evaluate the work of assigned attorneys and legal assistants, and lead the preparation of recommendations and testimony for contested cases before SOAH and the Commission. Additional responsibilities include developing litigation and policy strategies, coordinating with other divisions and stakeholders, responding to external inquiries, and ensuring the division's legal work is of the highest quality. WORK SCHEDULE The PUCT operates on a standard work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employees may request an alternative work schedule in accordance with the PUCT's Alternative Work Schedule Policy. Approval of such requests, including any form of telecommuting, is at management's discretion and based on the business needs of the agency and the requirements of the position. VETERAN'S PREFERENCE Veterans, Reservists, or Guardsmen with a Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) or additional duties that fall in the fields listed in the below link who meet the minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply.
