General Job Description: Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Vice President, Chief of Staff serves as a trusted strategic advisor, project leader, and organizational integrator, ensuring the successful execution of the CEO's priorities. This role is responsible for advancing strategic initiatives, managing high-impact projects, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and ensuring alignment across the executive leadership team. The Vice President, Chief of Staff also functions as Secretary to the Board of Directors, managing all board-related governance, documentation, and communications to ensure effective and compliant board operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The following accountabilities are accomplished through collaborating, advising and supporting the Executive, Board of Directors, executive leadership, affiliate groups and corporate functions.
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, providing counsel, insight, and operational support on business, organizational, and cultural matters.
- Partner with the CEO to strengthen the effectiveness, alignment, and collaboration of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) through facilitated discussions, structured feedback, and leadership development initiatives.
- Drive execution of the CEO's strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and timely delivery of key initiatives.
- Research, analyze, and prepare briefings, reports, and recommendations for the CEO on business opportunities, risks, and strategic decisions.
- Manage sensitive and confidential matters with the highest degree of discretion and professionalism.
- Anticipate potential challenges or opportunities and proactively recommend solutions.
Board of Directors (Board Secretary)
- Function as ACCO's Board Secretary and support the Board's governance and administration responsibilities. Support encompasses collaborating with the Board Chair and Committee Chairs to develop meeting materials such as: officer and committee member lists, agendas, record meeting minutes, resolutions, Board self-evaluation surveys, new-member board orientation preparation, as well as facilitating communication and supporting the Board Chair.
- Distribute Board meeting materials to Board members, calendar meetings and collaborate with the Executive Office to ensure logistics are set - such as Board room set-up, AV testing, catering, hotel accommodations and offsite meeting locations.
Project Leadership & Organizational Alignment
- Lead special projects and corporate initiatives on behalf of the CEO, often involving cross-functional teams and high organizational impact.
- Coordinate and facilitate executive-level meetings, offsites, and strategic planning sessions, focusing on team cohesion, shared accountability, and collective problem-solving among senior leaders.
- Partner with leaders across the organization to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Monitor progress on strategic goals, providing updates and recommended actions to the CEO.
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support the CEO in internal and external communications, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with company values.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with executives, employees, clients, and external partners.
- Represent the CEO in select internal and external meetings as delegated.
Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.):
- The position is a full-time position and requires substantial independent thinking and responsibility. Hybrid opportunities can be available.
- Master's degree preferred; bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field required.
- 10 or more years of proven track record in supporting executive leadership for business success.
- Demonstrate leading by example, showing accountability and integrity in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong leadership and team development skills to create a team culture of empowerment with clearly defined roles and responsibilities demonstrating respect for all team members and their individual preferences

Competitive Wages: $130,000 to $215,000 Annual Salary.
