JOB SUMMARY: This position supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged with systematic processing of finished good products inbound/outbound across all channels of the business. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Supervises the daily operations of Vendor finished goods vault, Drivers, Distribution Center (DC) Operator/Sorters, Inventory Control Coordinator and DC Warehouse Floater. Provides direction, performance feedback, coaching and training in a timely and constructive manner.
- Schedules and assigns work, establishes performance measures, goals, objectives and priorities.
- Reviews, approves and/or updates attendance, time sheets and requests. Responsible for reviewing applications, conducting interviews and selection of new hires.
- Assures established procedures targeted are consistent, accurate and customer returns are processed timely, and that supplier returns and inbound receipts (vendor finished goods) are followed thoroughly.
- Performs periodic audits of department practices to ensure compliance with established standard practices and procedures.
- Assures the company's quality standards are consistently attained with vendor finished good as well as returning merchandise to stock.
- Analyzes and recommends adjustments to policies, process, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on the continuous monitoring of the business environment, the character/nature of the customer complaints and feedback from internal business units and external business partners.
- Responsible for maintaining or improving cycle count rate for finished goods.
- Maintains adequate security on all inventory items (physical and procedural controls) and coordinates with Accounting and Loss Prevention departments in the event of unexplained inventory shrinkage.
- Ensures drivers' route commitments are upheld and notifies other departments of changes or delays.
- Serves as a liaison between James Avery (JA) IT, JA Tech Maintenance & Distribution Center (DC) operations with sorter company by assisting with resolution when instances occur.
- Performs systems upgrade testing on DC system processes communicating results with JA IT.
- Helps support Distribution Operations Manager and performs additional duties as assigned.
WHAT IS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- 2 years' experience in warehouse shipping & receiving, distribution, inventory control or similar work.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Outlook, Word and Excel).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to create and interpret various documents, reports and/or correspondence etc.
- Intermediate proficiency with basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, etc.
- Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and manage frequent interruptions.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and have a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in stressful situations.
- Ability to safely lift up to 30lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance.
- Ability to work extended or unscheduled hours as business need requires
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Supervisory, leadership or training experience.
- Oracle inventory transactions experience.
