Carpenter's Latrobe Specialty Metals operations, based in Latrobe, Pa., manufacture high-performance specialty alloys serving aerospace, energy and other demanding markets. ENGINEERING MANAGER

PRIMARY DUTIES FOR THE ENGINEERING MANAGER

  • Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities including but not limited to: Facility expansion and capacity additions, new process/technology/equipment procurement and implementation, support of ongoing operations, Health, safety and environmental regulatory compliance, and CapEx budget financial management.
  • Manage a multi-disciplined engineering team.
  • Ensures all projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established project management methodology, policies and objectives.
  • Support the maintenance department in RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) initiatives.
  • Support internal customers with the execution of safety, environmental, and capex/non-capex projects.
  • Support or direct the engineering team to assist the maintenance, operations, and safety department in solving technical problems.
  • Provide technical assistance to the maintenance department during equipment failures.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ENGINEERING MANAGER

  • Four-year college degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience as an engineer in manufacturing environment and preference for 5+ years of managerial experience in a related technical discipline or manufacturing.
  • Experience managing site level CapEx budgets and project financial forecasts.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including - Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Working knowledge of AutoDesk Autocad, Inventor and/or Solidworks.
  • Requires excellent problem-solving skills and project management skills.
  • Experience leading others and effectively managing individuals' performance with the ability to train and develop others.
  • Ideal candidate will be well organized and have a proven track record to be able to prioritize tasks and make timely, appropriate technical and business decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.
