FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $55,000-$60,000/year POSITION SUMMARY American Councils for International Education seeks a high-energy, outgoing, organized, and articulate Program Officer to support outreach and recruitment efforts for its study abroad programs in such locations as Armenia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Tajikistan. The Program Officer for Recruitment and Outreach will organize and conduct recruitment visits to U.S. universities, design and develop outreach materials, update websites, and manage social media campaigns. Strong command of social media platforms and knowledge of U.S. higher education and study abroad are essential to the position. Travel is required. Alumni of American Council programs as strongly encouraged to apply. Position Description The AC Study and Research Abroad Department administers year-round fee-based study abroad programs, overseas research grants for scholars, and faculty-led programs in countries throughout Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and East/Southeast Asia. New programs in additional regions are forthcoming. The Department competes with a wide range of study abroad organizations in the field. Based in Washington, D.C., the Officer for Recruitment and Outreach will report to the Manager for Recruitment and Outreach, who leads the department's efforts to promote its programs and enroll participants year-round. The Officer for Recruitment and Outreach will conduct recruitment trips to universities and colleges throughout the U.S. to promote American Councils Study and Research Abroad Programs. In addition, the Officer will support the Manager to plan other recruitment trips to key sites. A critical component of these visits will be planning and scheduling classroom visits as well as information sessions for interested students. The Officer will also support the department in designing promotional materials through electronic and print media, including the department's website, program announcements, and flyers. The Officer for Recruitment and Outreach will serve as the lead for alumni activities and ensure that the department's social media accounts are updated, active, and contemporary. The Recruitment and Outreach Officer may also work with programs staff on the general administration of AC Study & Research Abroad Programs, including processing incoming application materials, database maintenance, and compiling reports for funding agencies and donors.
