The Opportunity

As a Project Leader for the Sequencing Applications Ecosystem (SAE) LifeCycle Team (LCT) at Roche Diagnostics, you will play a pivotal role in driving cutting-edge scientific collaborations that highlight the unique benefits of our Sequencing by Expansion (SBX) technology. You will be a key interface between the cross-functional team and our external collaborators, leading projects from concept to successful delivery and dissemination of impactful scientific data.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategic Collaboration & Leadership

  • Lead High-Impact Collaborations: Build and manage strong internal and external partnerships across LCT projects, ensuring alignment and delivering impactful research outcomes.

  • Drive End-to-End Execution: Oversee research collaborations from concept through to data generation, publication, and scientific dissemination, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

  • Advance Scientific and Market Goals: Lead the creation of publications and translational research data that support Roche's broader market development and scientific leadership.

  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Provide cross-functional leadership and secure the necessary resources and alignment to effectively execute all aspects of collaboration activities.

Team Leadership & Empowerment

  • Align and Inspire Teams: Ensure alignment around project goals while fostering a shared vision, transparent communication, and a culture of accountability and urgency.

  • Champion Cross-Functional Synergy: Drive collaboration across Lifecycle and extended teams to unlock innovation, challenge assumptions, and achieve exceptional outcomes.

  • Facilitate Strategic Decision-Making: Guide scenario planning and option evaluation to support informed, risk-aware, and timely decisions.

  • Communicate with Purpose: Promote constructive dialogue and clearly articulate requirements, capabilities, and deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders for seamless execution.

Who You Are

You are an experienced leader with a deep scientific background, passionate about leveraging innovative technology to transform patient lives. You bring a combination of scientific expertise, strong project leadership, and excellent project management skills.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in leadership positions, preferably within the diagnostics industry or a related field in business functions.

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences research, PhD preferred.

  • High degree of subject matter expertise in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), with a focus on emerging technique and applications (ie Single Cell, Spatial transcriptomics, NGS based proteomics)

  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate teams to make a significant impact and deliver their best every day.

  • Experience managing and driving complex teams to drive high impact, high value deliverables

  • Consistent track record of building collaborative relationships with peers and teams, enabling cross-functional teams to address strategic opportunities and solve problems to deliver projects on time.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pleasanton, CA is $136,500 - $316,900. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
