What You Will Be Doing

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented IoT Operations Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless operation of our IoT network, which supports over 200,000 devices through multiple-cellular IoT providers. The IoT Operations Specialist will monitor device connectivity, manage network cleanliness, and act as a liaison between our business and IoT providers. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and strong communication abilities to keep internal stakeholders informed during outages.


What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Monitor and maintain the connectivity of IoT devices across various cellular providers
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot connectivity issues, escalating to providers as necessary
  • Open and manage support tickets with IoT providers to resolve network issues
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing timely updates during outages and incidents
  • Collaborate with the business to support new initiatives and ensure seamless integration with IoT providers
  • Identify and develop automation of repetitive and bulk tasks
  • Identify and report upon bug patterns. Work closely with development team on resolutions
  • Provide level 4 debugging support for station issues
  • Further ideas and define projects that will assist NOC team in supporting 500,000+ stations
  • Implement solutions needed for advanced monitoring
  • Provide timely reports to management on the health of the ChargePoint network
  • Maintain and update the status page to inform the business of current network status and any ongoing issues
  • Assist in the transition from legacy IoT providers to streamline operations
  • Document and revise existing documentation on existing processes to ensure all members of Network Operations team can handle similar tasks. Cross-train other members of the department through regular meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions. Requirements


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5 years experience in IoT operations, network management, or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of cellular IoT connectivity and network troubleshooting
  • Advanced knowledge in shell scripting (BASH)
  • Knowledge of Python or other modern languages used to automate processes
  • Good Linux knowledge a plus
  • Familiarity with network topology, VPNs, access rights
  • Knowledge of databases, SQL queries, report writing
  • Experience documenting existing and new processes and procedures
  • Process management/optimization skills
  • Familiarity with Confluence and Jira a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with multiple IoT providers
  • Familiarity with cloud-based SaaS services
  • Previous experience in a role requiring cross-functional collaboration

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $70,000to $180,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
