What to Expect
The Energy Technical Content team creates and manages a wide variety of technical documents, illustrations, videos, and animations that support key stakeholders across multiple product lines and business functions including Energy Storage, Charging, and Solar. The team is looking for a senior-level 3D Generalist/Technical Illustrator who has experience creating compelling CAD-based illustrations to conceptualize, create, and maintain entire sets of technical illustrations for various product lines. This role will be responsible for working cross-functionally with various teams in the creation and maintenance of exploded view diagrams, renderings, and Photoshop/Illustrator illustrations to serve various business stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Create high-quality 3D assets of product visualizations, optimized for real-time or pre-rendered pipelines
- Create detailed isometric, exploded view, and perspective technical illustrations based on engineering data, CAD models, or rough sketches
- Develop illustrations for service manuals, installation guides, product assembly instructions, and safety documentation
- Interpret complex technical concepts and turn them into visual representations that are clear and intuitive to both expert and non-technical users
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, writers, and product developers to ensure technical accuracy and clarity
- Maintain and manage illustration libraries, templates, and style guides to ensure consistency across all deliverables
- Lead visual standards development and help define best practices for illustration workflows and output formats
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of professional experience in 3D art for games, Graphic Design, animation, or related industries
- Expert proficiency in 3D modeling software*: 3ds Max or Blender, and CAD software such as SolidWorks or 3D Experience (Catia V5)
- Strong graphic editing skills using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Solid understanding of real-time engines and offline rendering engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Vray, Octane, and Blender Cycles with a demonstrated ability to create both stylized and photorealistic assets
- Handle various parts of the 3D pipeline such as modeling, UV mapping, texturing, rigging, lighting, and rendering
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team, and proven ability to take initiative and lead by example

Expected Compensation
$80,000 - $144,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
