The Digital Systems Expert Director will lead and enable a high-performing, innovative team of technology professionals to drive JBS's digital advancement and operational excellence. This role requires strategic vision, technical expertise in digital transformation and IT operations, and a deep understanding of infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The Digital Systems Expert Director will oversee the development and execution of strategies to advance digital technology expertise, ensure scalable and secure digital operations, and deliver high-value solutions supporting JBS's business objectives. This position will collaborate across expert teams to foster innovation, continuous learning, and knowledge-sharing, ensuring the organization's digital capabilities are cutting-edge and aligned with client and organizational goals. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Define and lead the organization's digital transformation strategy, leveraging cloud, AI, data platforms, and modern application architectures.
- Oversee development, engineering, architecture, and programming teams to deliver innovative, secure, and scalable digital solutions.
- Collaborate with expert teams and practices to identify technology-driven opportunities that enhance efficiency, customer experience, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead management of staff resources across digital transformation-including infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, help desk, and service management functions-ensuring that the right people are assigned to the right tasks/projects, resources are utilized efficiently, and the Expert Team operates efficiently to achieve organizational goals and high project performance
- Establish and promote agile and DevSecOps methodologies for continuous delivery and improvement.
- Direct the IT Operations team, including the help desk, systems administrators, and infrastructure support personnel, ensuring high availability and performance of systems and services.
- Provide strategic leadership for IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud operations, and related IT services to ensure scalable, secure, and business-aligned technology that enable JBS's operations and growth.
- Lead ITIL-based service management functions such as incident, change, and problem management.
- Ensure robust monitoring, disaster recovery, backup, and cybersecurity measures are in place and continuously improved.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, NIST).
- Lead sourcing strategies and manage vendor relationships and contracts for IT and digital services to ensure aligned with compliance and organizational needs.
- Monitor and mitigate IT risk across platforms, networks, and data systems.
- Oversee the onboarding, retention, and professional development of top digital technology talent. Establish growth paths and learning opportunities to retain and elevate skilled professionals.
- Work cross-functionally with other Expert Team Directors and to ensure efficient resource sharing and integrated solutions.
- Coordinate the dissemination, advancement, and expansion of digital transformation expertise in partnership with JBS Corporate Communications Office and Business Development Center.
- Oversee management and attainment of employee performance goals, ensuring clear quarterly goals are set and progress is tracked against both individual and organizational goals.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive environment that prioritizes the well-being of all JBS employees. Collaborate cross-functionally to create initiatives and programs that promote employee engagement.
- Measure, analyze, and report key employee utilization and engagement metrics to leadership.
- As assigned, act as technical lead for digital transformation projects, ensuring successful delivery of JBS capabilities.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure cost-effective delivery of IT and digital services.
- Define and communicate project milestones, KPIs, and SLAs; develop execution plans for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Oversee disaster recovery, business continuity programs, and security compliance in partnership with cybersecurity teams.
- Develop and implement IT policies, including architecture, security, standards, and service provision.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital transformation and IT operations.
- Develop and manage the annual budget for digital transformation and IT operations.
- Optimize resource allocation and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or innovation.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Digital Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Public Health, or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of related professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in digital transformation and IT operations, preferably in a state/federal environment
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, and DevOps functions
- Experience in client relationship management and delivering technology solutions in a government consulting environment
Knowledge
- Expert-level knowledge of digital transformation, software development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies
- Knowledge of government contracting and related performance expectations
- Advanced understanding of infrastructure technologies including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), networking, virtualization, DevOps, and cybersecurity frameworks
- ITIL V4 certification preferred
