Open Source Intelligence Analyst, Mid

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Open-Source Intelligence Analyst to support the Department of Defense's intelligence mission. In this role, you will conduct deep-dive research, produce analytic products, and support intelligence requirements with advanced collection techniques using a DoD-approved Managed Attribution system. You will leverage emerging technologies to identify insights from large-scale data and enhance the relevance and depth of open-source intelligence (OSINT) production, all while adhering to established tradecraft standards.

As an open-source intelligence (OSINT) and publicly available information (PAI) analyst on our team, you'll explore new data sources, create effective queries, and combine information from disparate sources to support the U.S. Department of Defense and operational partners. You'll apply expertise in operations, intelligence, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and collections to enhance the client mission. You will find and work with available web and social media content, construct new OSINT and PAI tradecraft documents and workflows, and analyze the development of OSINT and PAI tradecraft, including integration across multiple intelligence disciplines and systems. You will leverage knowledge of Python or R, customize tools for select acquisition of bulk PAI data, and use internet technologies and observables, including process automation.

Your responsibilities will include evaluating new PAI techniques and technologies, testing collection tools, writing and reviewing reports, and advising on policy or procedural improvements. You will balance accuracy and expediency in production, track customer satisfaction, and comply with guidance on information sharing and protection.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • 4+ years of experience in OSINT research and collection methods, including advanced analytical principles, data manipulation, analysis, and developing collection plans and risk assessments

  • Experience with digital searches and producing collection requirements assessments

  • Experience authoring intelligence products, including OSIRs

  • Knowledge of PAI platforms, datasets, technologies, and critical web environments and associated tradecraft

  • Ability to conduct independent analysis to support mission requirements and use advanced search techniques and tools to support the usage of PAI

  • Ability to manage research and coordination for long-term projects

  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience integrating OSINT into all-source intelligence production and training others in advanced PAI research and analysis

  • Experience evaluating, recommending, and using PAI platforms and technologies, including open-source and public datasets

  • Experience identifying and analyzing disinformation, including source vetting for bias and inaccuracy

  • Experience in Python and R

  • Knowledge of other intelligence disciplines, including signals intelligence (SIGINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), and geospatial intelligence (GEOINT)

  • Ability to show proficiency in languages of interest

  • Master's degree in International Affairs, Political Science, Foreign Area Studies, National Security Studies, Linguistics, Business, Library Science, or a related research field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
