SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Environmental Risk Analyst to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Environmental Risk Manager, process lower-level environmental due diligence requests and engage the review and procurement of environmental site assessment reports to support the Bank's loan production teams. In the role you will adhere to OCC regulations and Bank environmental policy, guidelines, and procedures relative commercial real estate secured credits.

  • Facilitate requests for environmental due diligence reports and the review of environmental assessment reports.
  • Assist Environmental Risk Manager to train, educate and advise bankers to comply with the Bank's environmental policy requirements.
  • Provide solutions to address potential issues within the framework of the loan transaction.
  • Engage Bank-approved 3rd party environmental firms to perform environmental site assessments.
  • Maintain a proactive risk management awareness and to facilitate liability reduction.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of business and related risk management requirements and legislative/ regulatory directives and guidance.
  • Provide support to the appraisal team as needed including residential and commercial job manager coverage for processing and reviewing valuation reports.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration by building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

  • Possess an acceptable understanding of an environmental risk management function for a financial services institution.
  • Working knowledge of bank products and credit lending services

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • Experience: Experience in managing risk and/or compliance related activities in financial services or other relevant industry.
  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: An environmental risk professional certification or the ability to obtain a certification within 24 months

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk. This position requires the ability to drive a company vehicle to and from other locations. This position requires the ability to drive a vehicle to and from other locations as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. TRAVEL

Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.
