The Senior Director, Product Line leads the strategic implementation of the Vice President's vision across a designated strategic product line, which encompasses multiple related product lines. This role is responsible for architecting the internal systems, execution models, and cross-functional frameworks necessary to translate enterprise direction into measurable results across multiple product lines.
The Senior Director is responsible for creating the alignment and operational infrastructure necessary to deliver the overall mission and financial success of the strategic product line. This is achieved by maintaining strategic cohesion across product line leaders and overseeing performance through the intentional design and governance of systems that allow the strategic product line to thrive as a whole.

This role functions as the executional partner to the Vice President of Strategic Product Lines. While the VP is responsible for defining long-term strategy and shaping enterprise-level positioning, the Senior Director builds and governs the operational environment that enables successful implementation across product lines. This complementary structure ensures that enterprise vision becomes enterprise reality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Alignment & Translation:
  • Translate the VP's strategic vision into an actionable framework for the strategic product line spanning multiple product lines
  • Serve as the primary coordination point for product line Senior Directors, ensuring visibility and collaboration across functions
  • Develop and maintain initiative roadmaps and program architectures that align with enterprise goals
  • Monitor internal and external trends to inform adjustments in operational priorities
Operational Governance & Execution:
  • Design and implement governance models, performance metrics, and delivery systems for the strategic product line
  • Act as an internal consultant to product line leaders, helping translate enterprise priorities into on-the-ground tactics
  • Drive cross-functional integration to ensure alignment and accountability across product lines
  • Develop and manage processes to track and report progress toward portfolio goals
  • Support leadership development and succession planning across the strategic product line
Change Enablement & Executional Infrastructure:
  • Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives by developing the operational infrastructure needed for execution
  • Drive change management strategies that prepare, support and equip teams to successfully adopt new ways of working
  • Coordinate across teams to manage dependencies, remove barriers, and maintain momentum through complex transitions
Financial Strategy & Resource Stewardship:
  • Collaborate with finance, leadership, and business leads to steward budget planning, resource allocation, and sustainable growth
  • Influence investment strategies that support long-term positioning and operational scale
  • Identify and mitigate risks that could hinder delivery or performance

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration / Management,Engineering, Operations Management, Organizational Leadership / Development, Economics, Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic operations, portfolio management, or enterprise transformation
  • Demonstrated ability to translate high-level strategy into executable frameworks
  • Strong background in cross-functional collaboration and complex systems implementation
  • Competencies: strategic execution and systems thinking, cross-functional enablement and leadership, operational design and enterprise alignment, resource optimization and planning, change leadership, performance governance and communication, collaboration, and executive presence

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Strategy, Operations, or Organizational Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Change Management, Engineering Management, Project / Program Management, MPA (for government or nonprofit sector applications)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Environment:Primarily office-based or hybrid; requires presence for leadership and collaboration meetings.
  • Travel:Occasional (10-25%) to company sites or partner locations.
  • Schedule:Full-time (40-50+ hrs./week) with additional hours during key strategic cycles.
  • Nature of Work:High accountability for multi-line strategic objectives; extensive cross-functional coordination.
  • Decision-Making:Operates under VP guidance but with substantial autonomy in operational framework design and governance.
