Job Summary:




Under broad leadership and strategic direction, the Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all supplier quality activities within the organization. This role demands strong leadership, resource management, and stakeholder collaboration skills to drive continuous improvement, develop supplier performance, and ensure compliance with aerospace and regulatory quality standards. The Supplier Quality Manager will lead the Supplier Quality team in implementing robust processes, problem-solving efforts, and supplier development initiatives to meet business and customer expectations.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:





  • Lead and manage all supplier quality assurance activities within the supply chain, ensuring adherence to company and industry standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Supplier Quality Management systems, ensuring they are effective, compliant, and consistently applied across suppliers.
  • Oversee supplier qualification, certification management, and validation processes, verifying accuracy, credibility, and robustness.
  • Drive Supplier Quality Improvement Plans to achieve key metrics such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), escape reduction, nonconformance reduction, and cost savings.
  • Provide input to procurement and operations for make/buy decisions based on supplier quality performance.
  • Administer and support Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), coaching suppliers in problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Six Sigma), and ensuring timely closure of actions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for quality issues relating to suppliers, routinely reviewing nonconformances and quality trends to implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Facilitate and manage supply chain inspections and audits, ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure clear communication of supply chain contractual quality requirements to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate supplier quality data, metrics, and reports to inform management decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead supplier process improvement initiatives, encouraging innovation and efficiency.
  • Develop, deploy, and track performance and process metrics to measure process efficiency and supplier performance, fostering accountability.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Supplier Quality team, identifying skill gaps and implementing training and succession planning strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, legal, regulatory, and quality standards across all supplier quality activities.

Education and Experience





  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Systems, Business Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of engineering and quality experience, with proven supplier quality management background.
  • Strong expertise in problem-solving tools such as 8D, Practical Problem Solving, Six Sigma.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100, PPAP, and APQP.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in use of computer applications including MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio.
