Temple University's CLA/Psych & Neuro Department is searching for a Research Assistant! Position Summary ***THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION*** The Memory Epigenetics and Addiction Laboratory at Temple, directed by Dr. Mathieu Wimmer, is offering diverse opportunities to participate in cutting-edge biomedical neuroscience research, which are part of the NIDA-funded project, "Delineating epigenetic mechanisms underlying addiction vulnerability using multigenerational animal models." This project will explore the specific mechanisms that confer addiction vulnerability (or resilience) using animal models of substance abuse and opioid dependence. The part-time Research Assistant will manage multiple aspects of the research process. The Research Assistant will maintain records of data, collect and analyze data related to multiple projects, organize the data and generates graphical representation of collected data. The Research Assistant will also be responsible for performing surgical procedures and behavioral assays that are part of the research projects. The Research Assistant will help maintain and repair of lab equipment and will be responsible for ordering supplies for the lab. The Research Assistant will also fulfill administrative tasks including IACUC, IBC and EHRS protocol submission and revisions. The Research Assistant will also help organize lab meeting schedule and secure rooms for meetings. The successful candidate will perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: *B.A. or B.S. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Engineering, or a related field and at least 6 months research experience in Psychology, Neuroscience, or similar field. *Experience working with rodents in a wet lab setting. *An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Prior research experience in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field. * Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with MS Office suite or similar spreadsheet, database, word processing and presentation software. * Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills. * Strong project management, organizational, and planning skills. * Some experience managing or monitoring the work of others. * Comfortable giving presentations to small groups. * Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends to administer study protocols as necessary. Preferred Skills & Abilities: * Experience with molecular biology techniques.
