FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
KTBC FOX 7 Austin is looking for a dynamic Sales Manager to lead our broadcast, digital and OTT sales efforts across both the National Sales Organization (Fox Stations Sales) and Local Austin sales team. The successful candidate will develop a strategy for success on every platform and coach our teams to reach digital and linear revenue goals by performing the following duties:
- Direct National Fox Stations Sales efforts on KTBC FOX 7, the Fox Local Extension (FLX) OTT /CTV platform and Fox Local News platforms.
- Lead the National team to successfully achieve linear and digital revenue budgets and station share goals.
- Develop incremental revenue opportunities among new and existing National advertisers.
- Work closely with the GSM in pricing and managing inventory effectively for all KTBC accounts.
- Work closely with the National AEs on each piece of business, making sure the proper strategy is implemented to generate maximum revenue.
- Work with the General Sales Manager (GSM) and other members of the sales management team to develop and implement strategy for the Local Sales department that will achieve budgeted goals on linear, digital, OTT, new business, and sports/special opportunities.
- Hire, retain, develop, and mentor Local sales staff to effectively sell all products in our linear, digital, and OTT portfolio.
- Provide market insight and strategy to help coordinate sales strategies through pricing and inventory management.
- Grow existing accounts both nationally and locally.
- Oversee paid programming, posts, pre-empts, makegoods and AR reports.
- Develop new revenue streams through digital sales opportunities, local news, sports, special events, new business development, and integrations/special promotions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Be the go-to marketing consultant utilizing station marketing and merchandising materials.
- Meet with existing advertisers and solicit new advertisers for broadcast and digital through direct calls on accounts and agencies.
- Hold weekly update meetings with Account Executives to monitor sales goals and review performance.
- Keep GSM fully informed of all National and Local account activity through weekly pending and forecast reports.
- Assist GSM with special projects as needed.
- Travel as needed to grow successful relationships with clients, buyers, and planners.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Highly proficient in the linear, digital, and OTT media landscapes.
- Must be adept at managing complex negotiations while at the same time being creative to generate both linear and digital revenue.
- The candidate will have a documented track record of successful share growth in addition to new business development.
- Strong attention to detail and top-notch organizational skills with the ability to work under daily deadline pressures.
- Self-motivated, proactive and strategic thinker with the capability to build and maintain strong relationships both inside and outside the office.
- The candidate will have a well-built understanding of the local marketplace and an ability to make pricing decisions that align with station goals for revenue and market share.
- Exceptional leadership and management skills to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
- Skilled communicator.
- Full knowledge and understanding of ratings analysis, effective inventory pricing, commercial traffic scheduling and research products such as Scarborough, Kantar, Media Monitors, ComScore, Nielsen, Polk Data, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and Wide Orbit Traffic/Sales.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year university or college in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in media/advertising sales with Local and/or National television sales experience.
- The compensation for this position has a base salary of $130,000-$150,000 along with the potential for additional sales bonuses and incentives.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $130,000.00-150,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
