Genesis10 is currently seeking a Systems Engineer for a 1 year contract to hire position with our client out of Inver Grove Heights, MN. This role is Remote, expensed travel required to Kalama, Portland, and Tacoma

Summary:

Our client has an exciting opportunity in our Global Infrastructure Technology group. We are looking for an experienced level Systems Engineer to assist in the oversight of existing server and network infrastructure for our Corporate and Operational Technology environments at our grain export terminals in the Pacific Northwest (Kalama, Portland, Tacoma) and provide remote support to other locations domestic and internationally. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented and have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a team environment and independently.

Team - Global Inf team, 5-10 people network/server focused

Key Responsibilities:


  • Facilitate resolution of end user incidents related to IT server and network infrastructure.
  • Build strong relationships with Business and IT partners.
  • Create and maintain detailed designs of the server and network environments.
  • Server deployment and maintenance (Operating System and hardware) including upgrades and patching
  • Configure, and manage virtualization environment components including monitoring system performance and regular updates and patches
  • Manage local site network equipment, expand capacity to meet demand
  • Coordinate vendor resources to support access control and camera systems.
  • Follow established client policies for Change Management and related ITSM processes.
  • Train and provide technical support to new and existing customers of systems/services and peer support teams/resources.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Windows Systems Admin- Legacy 12
  • Active Directory administration
  • VMWare Environment
  • Networking Skills, Cisco
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Understanding of Operational, backend components


Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 1-2 years of experience in Information Technology and/or IT Architecture and Engineering as a Systems Engineer to include:


o Windows Systems Admin- Legacy 12

o VMWare system management (build, maintain, troubleshoot, optimize)

o Networking Skills, Cisco

o Cybersecurity Audit

o Active Directory administration

o Knowledge of industry protocols (i.e., TCP/IP, MPLS, VLANs)

o Knowledge of storage array administration

o Customer Service Skills

o Understanding of Operational, backend components


Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Information technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology Management, or related field
  • ITIL Certification
  • Cisco certification: CCNA, CCNP
  • Scripting/Automation knowledge (PowerShell)
  • Familiar with Operational Technology concepts and systems
  • Understanding of monitoring, packet capture, analysis


Physical Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional work hours and occasional off hours to control interruptions to production processing and business impact
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment wearing appropriate PPE
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds


Travel: Candidates will occasionally need to travel between our Pacific Northwest locations (Kalama, Portland, Tacoma). All within a couple hours of each other. When not traveling, workers will work from home but have to be able to drive. Mileage will be expensed.

Compensation:

Hourly W2 pay rate: $55-$60/Hr.

We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
