We are looking for an experienced Freelance Digital Analyst to focus on reporting and analytics for Fox News & Fox Business. As the Freelance Digital Analyst, you work to provide analysis to enable insights to be surfaced to accelerate audience and profit growth. You must hold accuracy to the highest standard. You are required to think critically to help drive strategic decision-making through detailed analysis, insights, statistical models and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs). You apply expertise through data mining to derive insights and data presentation to communicate insights to decision makers. As the Freelance Digital Analyst, you will partner with other analysts for Fox News & Fox Business to understand the performance of various platforms.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze data availability, surface data sets understanding the underlying implementation

  • Develop analyses that surface trends and performance gaps for our Fox News & Fox Business digital businesses

  • Identify cohorts and trends for how users are engaging with our digital content across platforms, devices, topics, etc.

  • Analyze productivity analytics to uncover opportunities and areas to streamline

  • Use data modeling techniques and tools to analyze large databases and complex data sets to derive insights and predictive analytics

  • Understand data governance and implement best practices in data management to ensure data integrity is upheld

  • Work closely with database engineering team to enhance data collection and identify new data sets that can be queried and utilized in future reporting

  • Assist staff with database queries, statistical analysis and institute streamlined data reporting best practices

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Degree in: Business Analytics; Statistics; Mathematics; Economics; Business; Computer Science

  • 1-5 years' experience in digital analytics, preferably with experience in a fast-paced media or entertainment environment. Experience with advanced and predictive analytics in a digital environment are desired.

  • Advanced knowledge of database applications / management, SQL and /or SAS

  • Great communication skills paired with a passion for building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple groups and levels in organization

  • Strong team player and communicator - able to remain productive and focused in a team-oriented, fast-paced, highly-matrixed environment.

  • Positive attitude, people-oriented, and energetic attitude with an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel functions, formulas, VLOOKUP function and pivot tables is required

  • Experience with translating 1st & 3rd party data such as Nielsen, ComScore, Adobe Analytics, Optimizely, social analytics etc.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau) is a must

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $31.00-38.46 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
