Overview

Metronome is seeking a Junior Exploitation Specialist (Data Scientist) to join a forward-leaning NGA team in Washington, DC. This role supports the CENTCOM mission set, with a focus on AI development and GEOINT automation. You'll work alongside government teams driving the integration of AI tools into operational platforms, supporting the future of intelligence collection.

As a junior-level professional, the ideal candidate will demonstrate foundational technical skills, the ability to execute assigned tasks, and the eagerness to learn and grow under guidance. Candidates should be comfortable working as part of a team, implementing well-defined tasks, and producing reliable, tradecraft-aligned work products. The position requires collaboration with Government and mission stakeholders, while applying developing technical expertise to contribute to mission outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and deploying AI tools that enhance GEOINT collection automation

  • Support analytic teams with data-driven decision-making under supervision

  • Collaborate with teammates and mission partners across NGA

  • Help integrate new AI capabilities and automation pipelines into NGA Source operations

  • Seek process improvements and actively develop more advanced skills

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph willingness

  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Python

  • Familiarity with AI tool development concepts (academic, training, or professional)

  • Ability to work onsite (with very limited remote flexibility)

  • High School diploma required; additional training or certifications preferred

  • Exposure to LLM integration, RAG development, prompt engineering, or NLP

  • Familiarity with deploying AI tools into operational or testing environments

  • Awareness of intelligence types: SIGINT, OSINT, ELINT, GEOINT, MASINT, HUMINT

  • Knowledge of geospatial analysis tools such as JEMA, Brewlytics, or ArcPro

  • Programming exposure in R, SQL, HTML, or JavaScript

  • Interest in NGA/NRO collection systems
