Summary:
The Pharmacist In Charge collaborates with and leads operations of a multidisciplinary team to provide dispensary pharmacy services to patients towards the goal of improving the patient's clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities:
*Recruits, hires, orients, and leads a team of pharmacy professionals in a pharmacy setting as the NC Board of Pharmacy license holder. Maintains daily operations within a defined budget. Applies effective verbal and written performance feedback using the organization's performance management toolkit.
*Responsible for developing and reviewing clinical protocols and operational policies/procedures in a clinical or operational area. Manages priorities to meet team/program expectations. Documents progress toward approved team/program clinical and operational goals.
*Provides clinical and operational pharmacist services to patients as required. Dispenses prescribed pharmaceuticals. Educates patients regarding medication details and disease states, tailoring communication as warranted using cultural competency and awareness of health, verbal and written literacy.
*Develops and maintains a training program for the team. Mentors colleagues to ensure proficiency of all team members as required. Teaches students, residents and new pharmacy staff and participates in scholarly activities.
*Develops cross-functional relationships as a champion of clinical professionalism, quality patient care, and effective billing practices. Collaborates within assigned unit and the hospital at large to support strategic initiatives and goals.
*Identifies and implements clinical pathway and/or operational process improvement initiatives to provide optimal care while minimizing cost.
*Support compliance with federal, state, local and institutional policies, procedures, standards and regulations.

Other information:
Required
*Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
*Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of North Carolina.
*Experience performing in a leadership capacity

Preferred
*Doctoral degree in Pharmacy.
*Three (3) years working in a pharmacist role
