Position Summary

The Childbirth Educator Program Coordinator is responsible for the direction, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the regional MultiCare Childbirth Education Program.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Act as main contact for the program - leading in a way that demonstrates MHS values and an understanding of MHS's mission and vision.

  • Ensure standards are implemented and maintained, services are evidence-based and incorporate population needs.

  • Provide necessary support to the team and patients/students to ensure a smooth program with education schedules, partnering with the marketing team, distribution of supplies and assisting patients in getting connected with appropriate providers, as needed

  • Function as a Childbirth Educator providing education to patients, their families and/or appropriate support systems, as needed.

Requirements

  • High school graduate required

  • Current certification in Childbirth Education or graduate of Childbirth Education program OR certification in specific area of expertise to teach specific classes, i.e. infant CPR for Infant CPR class instructor, IBCLC for Breastfeeding Class instructor, certified in Baby Wearing instruction for Baby Wearing Class, certified massage therapist for Infant Massage Classes or training in fathering instruction for Fathering Classes. (exception of CPR instructor and instructor of Dad's Bootcamp)

  • Current Washington State Driver's License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $30.10 - $43.32 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
