Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities:

As MIS Specialist, you will maintain various computer operations throughout the facility, as well as provide technical support and advice regarding computers, telecommunications, and network administration. Part of your role will be to:

  • Provide technical support to ensure personal computers and servers (hardware and software) are performing properly; lead system security, operation, and maintenance.
  • Track technology inventory; research specifications and order required hardware/software.
  • Monitor the computer operations' budget in conjunction with regional I.T. staff.
  • Maintain security administration of systems; assign local domain log-in profiles and passwords.
  • Ensure users have access to appropriate applications and files.
  • Create, maintain, modify, and produce accurate, timely reports using Crystal Reports.
  • Collaborate with the training department to develop and implement system training.
  • Maintain and restore daily backups on LAN.
  • Ensure strict adherence to software licensing rules and maintain careful records.
  • Generate technical reports on utilization, projected needs, and other areas.
  • Travel to other facilities not limited to your home region.
  • Use your general knowledge of telephone systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a related role with experience in hardware and software operations. Educational and progressive work experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree at management's discretion.
  • Ability to identify and solve computer problems and act independently with a wide variety of employees and vendors required.
  • Ability to understand and resolve technical problems independently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently: lift or carry up to 20 lbs.; bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, work with machinery, walk, stand, sit.
  • Occasionally: lift or carry up to 60 lbs. or more, and push or pull up to 60 lbs.; climb, walk.
