Fabrication Trainer-2nd shift

Wage Range: $29.00/hour + overtime

Position Summary:

The Fabrication Trainer is responsible for the comprehensive training of new Fabrication Team members on essential metal fabricating equipment, including press brakes, panel benders, lasers, and punch presses. This role involves developing and implementing structured training programs, delivering hands-on instruction on machine operation and safety procedures, and diligently tracking the acquisition of skills and competencies of trainees.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide step-by-step training to all new Fabrication Team Members, utilizing various instructional techniques and follow-up methods to ensure thorough understanding and retention of each skillset
• Evaluate new employees' learning aptitude and ability to perform job duties safely and accurately
• Track the progress of individual team members on the flex chart throughout their training period
• Develop, guide, and mentor employees to achieve success in their Fabrication Team Member roles
• Demonstrate the ability to accurately read a tape measure to within 1/16th of an inch
• Monitor and verify that finished parts conform to engineering drawings and quality standards as outlined in the Control Plan
• Ensure trainees adhere to standard operating procedures in all aspects of their work, including tool setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling
• Perform general machine maintenance according to Daily Maintenance Checklists
• Lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials to assist in production
• Instruct and execute team lifts for items over 40 pounds
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and ergonomic devices, and lift assists, navigating the plant with alert behavior, operating power tools and machines according to instructions, and disposing of waste properly

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Completion of a trade school or training program is a plus
• Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and Teams
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely using various platforms
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrated proficiency in metal fabrication machining, assembly, and/or high-volume manufacturing
• Working knowledge of Metric and English measurement systems with the ability to perform conversions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, attribute/variable gauges, and hand tools
• Bilingual Spanish/English
• Experience with Cincinnati, Nisshinbo, Punch Press, Panel Bender, Fiber Laser, Press Break, Punch Press, G-Code, or Ras Panel Folder machines is a plus
