Overview

The Product Lifecycle and Engineering team at Waters supports global product development by providing and managing IT platform capabilities. These capabilities include, but are not limited to, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Document Management, Project and Portfolio Management, Systems Engineering, and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

As a key member of this team and the SAP S/4HANA transformation programme, the Business Applications Analyst (Product Lifecycle Management) will collaborate with business partners to select, implement, manage, and support PLM-related technology solutions across Waters globally.

The ideal candidate will have experience with one or more PLM applications in a product development or manufacturing environment, and be proficient in business analysis techniques, including use case analysis and requirements elicitation.

Additionally, the role involves project management responsibilities, requiring the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. Experience in project and risk management is highly desirable.



Responsibilities

    Lead PLM-related projects, including requirements elicitation, system design, documentation, testing, defect tracking, and data conversion.
  • Manage and maintain solution documentation, roadmaps, and functional/technical specifications across the PLM portfolio.
  • Oversee integration of boundary applications between the PLM platform and SAP S/4HANA ERP system.
  • Create, manage and execute test scripts for PLM applications, including validation and compliance with quality system requirements.
  • Provide system administration and support for deployed PLM applications, ensuring operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to analyse processes, understand user personas and use cases, and define solution requirements.
  • Act as a training resource and mentor for users and team members, offering guidance and support as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business and IT partners, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements to support business activities and operational efficiency.
  • Apply business analysis techniques, including use case analysis and scope definition, aligned with industry and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage time effectively, set priorities, escalate issues when necessary, and contribute to project risk management and delivery.
  • Maintenance of support tickets and project tasks in a timely manner in line with the relevant IT policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the effectiveness of the Quality system through adherence to applicable policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience suporting PLM systems.
  • Demonstrable strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management, Document Management, ERP integration and Digital Twins.
  • Ability to design, configure, enhance, test, and implement PLM solutions independently.
  • Experience in working with business stakeholders and translating requirements into technical solutions.
  • Able to influence and achieve alignment across a range of different opinions and interests.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking, planning and execution skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to identify issues, solve them quickly.
  • Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience of successfully designing and delivering solutions with extended teams of employees and contractors both locally and remotely.
  • Experience of working in a GxP Validated environment is desired.
  • Specic knowledge of SAP PLM, SAP S/4 is desired.
