Position Title: Set Up Machinist
Wage: $52,000 - $56,000/year Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm Are your skills not being fully utilized? Reach your maximum potential by working with QPS! QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Set Up Machinist at a company in Milwaukee, WI. This is a direct hire position for 1st shift. Apply today! Set Up Machinist Responsibilities: - Perform duties necessary to set up, adjust and operate a limited variety of spring making machines and associated equipment - Identify tooling requirements and where necessary maintain tooling, fixtures, holding devices and other machine or equipment accessories - Set up and operate machine tools such as mills, lathes, grinders, etc. to maintain tooling or work in conjunction with an Engineer and/or Toolmaker - Develop, modify or improve CNC and NC machining programs to optimize production operations - Diagnose operating problems and take corrective action - Diagnose machine malfunctions and take necessary action to correct problems - Perform routine machine maintenance - Work from schedules, drawings, specifications, job orders or special instructions - Select within limits or as instructed appropriate arbors, cams, discs, blocks, fixtures, mandrels and special tooling as necessary to meet production and quality requirements - Set up speed and feed mechanisms, stops, wire and material feeds following established procedures or standardized methods - Inspect first piece and in process to ensure compliance with quality and make necessary adjustments - Replace or repair dulled or broken tooling and fixtures as necessary - Maintain clean work area Requirements for Set Up Machinist: - Able to use decimals and fractions, work from drawings and specifications, use adjustable precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers and other appropriate measuring equipment. - Detailed blueprint reading and interpretation proficiency QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
