Wilson Elser is seeking a skilled and motivated Employment, Education & Labor Associate Attorney to join our growing litigation team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a nationally recognized firm and provide comprehensive legal counsel to a diverse range of clients across public and private sectors in employment, education, and labor law.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Independently manage a litigation caseload, from inception through resolution.
  • Represent employers, private schools, and other institutions in a wide variety of employment, labor, and education law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract and collective bargaining issues.
  • Provide day-to-day legal advice and training to clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment, education and labor laws.
  • Collaborate with Partners and senior attorneys on complex matters and trial preparation.
  • Regularly handle court appearances, mediations and depositions
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and strategic guidance.


Qualifications



  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York
  • 2-5 years of litigation experience with a focus on employment, labor, and/or education law
  • Experience handling discrimination and wage and hour claims under federal, state, and local laws
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Salary Range:
$140,000 $170,000 USD
