We're seeking a proactive event producer with proven collaboration, project management, and problem-solving skills to deliver new curated meeting and custom event offerings at the Game Developers Conference.

As the lead driver for these new offerings, you will be responsible for supporting the vision of these products, then leading the planning and execution of complex project plans to ensure all milestones are met. You'll collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and operations to ensure these new products deliver significant value for our attendees and contribute to the growth and development of GDC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of curated meeting and custom event offerings, utilizing data and leadership input to shape offerings into high-value, sellable, executable products that are tailored specifically to the needs of our audience
  • Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines and milestones, resource allocation, budgets, and risk management strategies. Generate and manage event brief and event plan for meeting spaces.
  • Motivate, guide, and support diverse internal stakeholders to ensure all milestones are met; proactively engage and hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables
  • Approve, direct and/or execute on key event production aspects for the events including F&B, graphics, printed materials, presenters, hosts, and more
  • Run weekly team meetings to report project progress and proactively address challenges
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners, including:
    • Sales and Sponsorship Team to identify additional revenue generating opportunities that meet client needs and define sponsorship opportunities
    • Marketing, to ensure events are promoted to the right audience and are easily accessible onsite
    • Operations, to ensure costs are in-line with budgets and to deliver the events on the day
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques and implement contingency plans when necessary
  • Develop concierge program to curate meetings and support vendor selection for matchmaking
  • Support shaping of the onsite experience and strategy for future events by collecting and analyzing feedback, including production of the post-conference report and post-event analysis
  • Support special projects related to other GDC products throughout the year
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years' experience leading event production, event operations, or event management with at least 2 years' direct experience managing meeting-style events
  • Ability to effectively review, analyze, and draw actionable takeaways from data
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects/events at once
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to contribute new ideas and new solutions
  • Understanding/previous experience working with video editing and production
  • Proven prior experience in building andmaintaining relationships with internal and external partners, and understandingcustomer needs
  • Budget management skills
  • Familiar with vendor contracts
  • Strong collaboration and communicationskills written, verbal, and executive-level presentation
  • Contribute to our entrepreneurial, resourceful, positive, and hard-working team culture
  • Able to balance independent and collaborative work
  • You will becommercially astutewith a constant desire to find out more about the Gaming sector
  • Preferred software knowledge: Asana or other PM software, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Vimeo or another video review/editing software, Adobe Acrobat, Sharepoint or another shared document software.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000, depending on experience
