The Corporate Revenue Cycle Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Program Manager - Revenue Cycle Patient Access.

As a Program Manager - Revenue Cycle Patient Access, you'll be responsible for assessing current revenue cycle processes and workflows; identifying areas for efficiency and effectiveness enhancements, collaborating with teams (e.g., registration, billing, charging, coding, collections, and denials management) to streamline processes, reduce and recover denials, and optimize cash flow; and analyzing and monitoring revenue cycle metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Revenue Cycle Program Managers are experts in the subject matter and possess a comprehensive understanding of Revenue Cycle operations. Program Managers operate independently to analyzes accounts receivable and ensure maximization of net revenue realization, stable cash collections, avoidance of denials and measured reduction to bad debt. Program Managers act as liaisons between central billing offices, facilities, and other stakeholders.

The Patient Access Program Manager serves as a leader and subject matter expert for patient access operations, optimizing front-end revenue cycle performance and outcomes; combines analytical skills with leadership to enhance efficiency and the patient experience; oversees projects, implements best practices, educates users on processes and vendor products; and recommends actionable improvements to eliminate registration errors. Patient Access Program Manager also acts as a liaison to the Central Business Offices and facilities to support continuous process improvement and compliant revenue maximization.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitors and analyzes Patient Access processes and KPI performance, and works with the facilities for continued improvement using action plans, training, and site visits as necessary.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert for patient access systems and technology, leads and participates in new technology implementation projects; and leads testing and implementations efforts for new system features in an operational capacity, both virtual and onsite, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows.
  • Develops and implements quality assurance measures to improve service levels, minimize errors, and ensure consistency across patient access teams.
  • Assists in development of policies and procedures.
  • Documents and designs all operational needs with patient access systems using UHS policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field required. Significant Revenue Cycle experience (i.e., 5+ years in addition to the minimum) might be accepted in lieu of certain college education requirements.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience required.
  • Experience working in a patient accounting system, coordinating diverse stakeholders, improving Revenue Cycle operations, and utilizing pattern analytics and industry best practices to enhance systems and operations.
  • Experience managing admitting and patient access operations in an acute care setting, specifically an inpatient hospital and a relevant certification (e.g., CHAM, CRCR).
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills, proficiencies in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.), and the ability to meet deadlines and multitask.

Travel Requirements: Up to 15% domestic travel dependent on business need.
