Warehouse / Forklift Associate

Job Summary

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for accurately performing a variety of warehouse duties under direct supervision. This position involves handling, organizing, and processing boxes and files, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety regulations, transportation laws, and company policies. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Job Responsibilities




  • Barcode and process new boxes and files for inventory.



  • Pull and prepare access lists for retrieval or review.



  • Refile boxes and files accurately and efficiently.



  • Barcode and process boxes scheduled for destruction according to company protocols.



  • Perform bay consolidation and general warehouse maintenance.



  • Operate a picker forklift or other warehouse equipment safely and proficiently.



  • Conduct safety and operational checks on equipment before use, including inspection of batteries, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguishers.



  • Safely transport boxes within the warehouse using assigned equipment.



  • Perform pickups and deliveries using company vehicles as needed.



  • Conduct basic vehicle maintenance and ensure all equipment is returned to the proper charging station at the end of each shift.



  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all company materials and records.



  • Complete other duties as assigned.




Job Requirements




  • Proven forklift operating experience (required).



  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including continuous lifting of 40-50 lb boxes.



  • Comfortable working at heights of 12-14 feet.



  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.



  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.



  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.



  • Strong customer service and communication skills.



  • Dependable, reliable, and capable of safely operating equipment.



  • Willingness to follow established procedures while contributing improvement suggestions.



  • Flexibility to work varied hours, assignments, and overtime as required.



  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles, including vans and box trucks.




Education




  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.




Work Experience




  • Previous warehouse experience required.



  • Experience operating forklifts, electric pickers, or similar equipment preferred.




Additional Job Details




  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (30-minute lunch). Flexibility available with manager approval.



  • Must maintain compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.



  • Temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with a pay increase upon transition to a permanent position.
