Description
The Beverly YMCA is looking for an experienced and passionate High-Level Team Coach to lead and inspire gymnasts competing in XCEL Platinum through XCEL Sapphire levels. What You'll Do:
Reporting to the Gymnastics Director, the High-Level Team Coach will:
Provide high-quality instruction tailored to the XCEL Platinum through Sapphire levels
Ensure the safety, well-being, and progress of each gymnast
Build strong, positive relationships with athletes and their families
Foster an environment that promotes teamwork, confidence, and personal growth
Support program development and contribute to achieving departmental goals
Assist with additional responsibilities as needed to support the success of the program

Qualifications
3-5 years of coaching experience, including proven success with JO Levels 6-10 or XCEL Platinum-Sapphire gymnasts
Demonstrated ability to build competitive routines, lead structured practices, and create strategic choreography for high-level athletes
Strong understanding of skill requirements and routine construction for XCEL upper levels
In-depth knowledge of the Optional Code of Points, with the ability to apply it effectively in training and competition settings
Proficient in spotting advanced skills to ensure proper technique and athlete safety
SafeSport Certification (or willingness to complete within 15 days of hire)
Passion for youth development, alignment with the YMCA's core values, and dedication to creating a positive team culture
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Weekend availability and willingness to travel for local and regional competitions
Environmental & Physical Requirements
Must maintain the physical and mental capacity necessary to uphold required coaching certifications
Ability to demonstrate gymnastics techniques during classes and team practices
Must be able to see and hear clearly to respond effectively in emergencies
Comfortable lifting and maneuvering equipment and children up to 55 lbs
Must be able to stand for extended periods and move comfortably across uneven gym floors
Capable of responding quickly and appropriately to unexpected behaviors or safety concerns
