The Vehicle Modernization Manager - Program is responsible for managing modernization updates for the projects within their programs. They will also develop update procedures while working with the EE SSTM (Program Manager) and Vehicle Engineering Program Manager (VPM) to define part levels for each modernization wave. These procedures will include software update procedures and hardware update instructions. They will request part needs to support modernization requests and will manage vehicle logistics of 1,000's of vehicles for this task. They will manage and train Flying Doctors on how to update development and production vehicles built at assembly plants after delivery, and/or supplier sub-assembly. They will train the Flying Doctors on how to conduct basic triage and perform customer-level audit testing. They will be responsible for creating software update instructions to ensure that vehicles are updated correctly and to the defined software levels without issues or causing additional downtime. They will assign work tickets to the Modernization and Triage and Modernization teams and will be instrumental in enhancing vehicle usability and deploying new features during validation. Their responsibility covers a vehicle program and are expected to support the modernization of approximately 10,000 vehicles per year. Along with the entire Operability and Commissioning Team, they will strive to improve vehicle-level operability by updating vehicles with the latest compatible software configurations and promptly identifying and resolving issues.
