Overview: The Division of Genetic and Genomic Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, located at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a clinical geneticist to join in our outpatient clinical, research and teaching activities. The Division serves inpatients and outpatients of all ages in a variety of disciplines several subspeciality clinics. The successful candidate will collaborate with specialists and genetic counselors at NCH to build the future of outpatient genetic care, joining an expanding team that consists of ten clinical geneticists (two metabolic), 21 genetic counselors, three metabolic dieticians, three nurse practitioners, and metabolic medical assistants/LPNs. Full genetics laboratory services on site include biochemical genetics, cytogenetics, and molecular diagnostic labs including on-site genome sequencing. Special focused clinics welcome-- neurology, cardiology, nephrology, heme, etc, and/or syndrome focused work. The Division also supports a Clinical Genetics residency program, and fellowships in Medical Biochemical, Molecular Genetics and Cytogenetics. Nationwide Children's is 1 of 8 Regional Genetics Centers funded by the Ohio Department of Health, serving over 3.5 million (>750,000 pediatric age) in central, northwest and southeast Ohio, with 35,000 births annually.
