Wind and Solar Area Manager - ERCOT Gulf Coast & South Region

What You Can Expect
As the Wind and Solar Area Manager, for the Gulf Coast & South Texasregion you bear the responsibility for overseeing total employment, training, schedules, safety, and the day-to-day financial operations of three (3) Solar project sites. Your managerial role extends to leading a team comprising three (3) direct reports. In your capacity as the head of safety, it is imperative to ensure that all permits and reports are current, valid, and in compliance with both federal and state regulatory agencies. You will be tasked with the management of vendors, subcontractors, maintenance, budgets, and consultants, coordinating efforts with third parties. You will also be responsible for managing and reporting on Profit and Loss responsibility for regional performance.

You manage all areas of responsibility in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, environmental requirements, company policies and procedures, the company's annual operations plan, legal and contractual requirements, and good wind and solar industry practices. Additionally, you take all necessary actions to protect the facility's operating permits, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

Utilizing systems like Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), you will monitor daily asset performance and regulatory compliance to meet standards set by organizations such as the National Electrical Reliability Council (NERC). Your responsibilities involve utilizing various computer-based systems, ensuring the timely update and maintenance of all documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional management may be necessary to provide reports on the status, progress, and development of various projects on-sites.You will need to provide technical and management support for the design and operations of the solar sites. Must be willing to attain substation technician certification within 12 months of hire date.

What You'll Bring

• Technical diploma/high school diploma and seven (7) years' experience in a related industry where you gain knowledge and or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills
• Minimum of three (3) years previous experience in supervision of technical, operating or maintenance personnel
• In-depth knowledge of wind, solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) power generating equipment and technologies
• Working knowledge of solar power generating equipment and technologies and substations to identify, categorize and troubleshoot
• You should be able to effectively lead and manage multiple teams, as well as communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
• Must be physically capable of wearing protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to half and full-face

Additional Details

• This is a field position requiring regular travel to client site(s)
• This role requires daily attendance at a worksite
• Must be willing and able to travel domestically 50% to visit sites, company meetings, events and training
• Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record with the ability to drive a company vehicle to sites, customers, and company activities
• Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
• The position consists of 50% work indoors and 50% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions
• Could involve some lifting / up to 50lbs Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Salary Range: $117,900 - $160,00 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus.
