UDR, Inc. is now hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team at our corporate office in Highlands Ranch.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Focused on supporting the company's operational and sales intelligence through the construction/maintenance of reporting tools and maintenance of foundational datasets. Will assist Director of Analytics, VP of Operations FP&A, and VPs of Property Operations with creating and maintaining BI tools and reporting assets that provide operational solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Design, develop and maintain existing and new semantic models and dashboards using Power BI

2. Build and maintain dataflows that integrate different systems including SQL Server and SharePoint

3. Optimize datasets and data models for performance and usability

4. Orchestrate data to ensure data is refreshed, transformed, and available for analysis in a timely, efficient, and logical manner

5. Provide regular reporting and ad-hoc analysis

6. Translate business needs into technical specifications

7. Create data visualizations and use data storytelling techniques to highlight insights, trends, and recommendations in a compelling and understandable way for non-technical stakeholders

8. Work in a cross-functional team and collaborate with other data analysts, IT, and business users

9. Monitor and audit report access and usage

10. Ensure data accuracy and security

11. Identify new opportunities for growth to ensure industry leading revenue growth. Provide insight on expense saving opportunities. Assist in building a framework for customer experience information and actions.

12. Document changes and implement and maintain version control for Power BI files and SQL queries

13. Analyze change impacts and plan and communicate with downstream users.

14. Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:



  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge and appreciation of business concepts and requirements. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve everyday company issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business research principles, processes, and techniques. Solid understanding of best practices of data modelling and manipulation. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent people skills are required.
  • Ability to think conceptually and translate concepts into practical applications. Ability to demonstrate and execute practical and effective solutions to problems. Ability to analyze data and recommend strategy. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Understanding of statistical methods and their limitations.
  • Must have the ability to manage workload, to develop efficient and effective processes that impact the entire organization, and to communicate with managers and staff at all levels of the organization. Ability to travel, when applicable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and presentations. Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from groups of managers, associates, and the Executive Team. Ability to work in conjunction with Company managers, property management teams and associates.


TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some bending, stooping, and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive research and required ability to sit for long periods of time. Regular and consistent attendance on the job is an essential function.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or other quantitatively rigorous field: or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

2. Graduate degree is a plus.

3. Minimum of two years' prior experience in analytics required.

4. Multifamily or real estate experience is a plus.

5. Direct experience working in Power BI (including Desktop and Service) or similar business intelligence tools is required.

6. Direct experience working in SQL is required.

7. Microsoft Fabric experience is a plus.

8. Git experience is a plus.

9. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.

10. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.

Salary Range:
* $85,000.00/yr. - $100,000.00/yr., depends on experience

Bonus Potential:
* Eligible for 10% annual bonus potential, based on personal and company performance
