Summary of Job Duties:University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas is accepting applications for a Full-Time, 12-Month Program Director with the 3D Culinary Program. The 3D culinary program is for adults with intellectual and developmental learning differences. The 3D Program Director is primarily an administrative role with required teaching time. This person will be responsible for the individualized curriculum development, lesson plans and collateral materials development, under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of CAHMI at UA - Pulaski Technical College Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Oversee day-to-day operations of the 3D program and serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current students, parents, support services, and the community
*Manage onsite on campus 8 hours, Monday- Friday
*Oversee curriculum development and revisions for the program in coordination with Chair and Executive Director of CAHMI
*Review current 3D program degree plans and modify as needed in coordination with the Chair and Executive Director of CAHMI
*Submit curriculum revisions through appropriate UAPTC curriculum approval processes
*Utilize Workday on an ongoing basis for daily operations
*Oversee the program's fiscal operations; develop and regularly monitor the budget
*Manage ordering and the maintenance of materials and services needed for instruction of classes in coordination with the CAHMI Administrative Assistant when necessary
*Ensure Blackboard courses are ready at the beginning of the semester with adaptations as necessary
*Review assessment of program outcomes of courses taught within the program
*Assist with student advising and career placement services
*Recruit, hire, and supervise 3D program faculty
*Manage instructor assignments and course schedules to best meet program and student needs
*Provide tours for the 3D program and manage the student application and interview process
*Coordinate with the Chair for scheduling classes in conjunction with CAHMI
*Create a 3D Handbook for parents and students and host it on the 3D Webpage
*Review 3D webpage for any needed updates, corrections, and revisions
*Review the 3D Student Application Document for needed updates, corrections, and revisions
*Engage in the ongoing processes and activities necessary for evaluation and professional development of faculty
*Teach 3 credit hours per semester as appropriate for the size and scope of the department
*Represent the 3D Program on various assigned committees
*Provide academic leadership of the school in conjunction with the Executive Director and Department Chair
*Develops and maintains contacts, collaboration, and coordination of services with other agencies to support the needs of 3D students, including transportation and all required services such as student assistance in class/lab in coordination with the CAHMI Executive Director and UAPTC Procurement
*Assist with program reviews and facilitate the achievement of attaining program accreditation for the 3D program
*Assist with UA-PTC CAHMI Special Events
*Actively communicate, maintain, and collaborate with the Advisory Committee.
*Promote the program and goals of the school both internally and externally.
*Promote the mission of University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, psychology, counseling or a related field from a regionally-accredited institution.
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management, working in community-based disability services, and/or working in environments with special populations.
  • Leadership experience in managing staff, budgets, workgroups, programs, and/or policy initiatives.
  • Leadership and managerial abilities, including excellent organizational, computer and written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including active listening, empathy, adaptability, positive attitude, conflict resolution, teamwork, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; additional certifications in areas such as behavioral support or transition services
  • Background in working with special education students.
  • Background in an academic post secondary environment.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing collaborative learning and student-driven curricula, as well as social interdependence approaches to learning.
  • Understanding of needs and demonstrated skill in teaching developmentally different students.
  • Experience working with developmentally different students in a college setting.
