Summary of Job Duties:The Director of Extended Education will lead the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of non-credit, professional development, workforce training, and lifelong learning programs. This role is responsible for aligning extended education initiatives with regional economic and community needs while advancing the university's mission and increasing student access to transformative educational experiences, strengthening educational attainment leading to social and economic mobility, and enhancing community engagement through partnerships and collaborations. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • A master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent experience;
  • Experience in development and implementation of pathways programs or continuing education or similar related experiences or equivalent experience.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Five (5) years experience in higher education;
  • Experience in developing and maintaining business partnerships.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage administrative functions for Extended Education, including financial affairs, office management, internal and external program support, staff supervision, and student concerns;

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to grow enrollment and expand non-credit program offerings that outlines short-term and long-term goals, objectives, action plans, and assessment strategies;

  • Make program changes and modifications. Make recommendations for further programs, functions, and services;

  • Clearly define performance expectations, ensure accountability, and provide ongoing informal feedback, coaching, and mentoring for instructors and extended education staff.;

  • Ensure a quality working environment for all employees and student-focused experiences for clients;

  • Engage in regional and national conversations regarding Extended Education to incorporate best practices as appropriate;

  • Represent extended education at meetings, conferences, and to the general public;

  • Establish relationships with local, regional, national, and international employers and community organizations to access needs and develop customized solutions and training programs;

  • Direct the development and review of policies and procedures; Analyze and recommend revenue resources, including new modalities for course delivery and individualized training;

  • Oversee the evaluation of non-credit programming to judge the impact of offerings and ensure quality products;

  • Participate in the development of publications that market the services of Extended Education. Direct and approve marketing activities such as advertising, website, student outreach, promotion, and publicity both within and outside the University;

  • Directs required reporting to university, state, and national agencies;

  • Collaborates with credit faculty to identify new continuing education courses and programs;

  • Other responsibilities as assigned
