LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL

JOB STATUS: Full-time

CLEARANCE: Active Secret

CERTIFICATION: Per DOD 8140 and DAFMAN 17-1305

TRAVEL: 5%

Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer located at the 46TS/TGBC in Eglin AFB, FL. This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron - Sensors and Defensive Systems Flight at Eglin AFB.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Technical BS Degree and 3-10 years of applicable experience. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
  • Interim Secret clearance is required to start. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance at the end of the government clearance approval process. U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Foundationally qualified under DOD 8140 and DAFMAN 17-1305 through either degree type, certification, or training at the commencement of work.
  • Recent network engineering experience with hands-on knowledge maintaining network infrastructures, working with Cisco networking equipment.
  • Able to travel 5% of the time to remote test locations both CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • An active Cisco certification is desirable.
  • Experience hardening network systems using current DISA STIGs preferred.
  • CAT-5/6 and fiber optic cable installation experience desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as a network engineer for the Data Links Test Lab supporting tactical data link test events through the development and implementation of data link network environments. Identifies and implements industry best practices and DoD security compliance standards.

  • Monitors and optimizes network performance, monitors network usage and security.
  • Analyzes current network capability and future requirements to propose network optimization and new network solutions; deploys network upgrades where applicable.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves network related problems and outages.
  • Supports Developmental, Test, and Evaluation enclave assessment and authorization IAW applicable DoD and AF instructions.
  • Performs other related functions as required to advise and assist the customer in the successful accomplishment of test support and test execution.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess cabling requirements and plan network infrastructure installations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair cabling, including broken connectors, damaged cables, and signal loss
  • Label cables and network equipment clearly and accurately according to established standards
  • Develop cabling diagrams and documentation using software tools (e.g., Visio, AutoCAD).
  • Install and maintain cable management systems, including racks, cabinets, and patch panels.
