Inpatient Coordinator

Responsible for management and coordination of 24 hours/day, 7 day/week inpatient and outpatient imaging operations. May work with pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hires, trains, orients, counsels, evaluates, and administers disciplinary action up to, and including, termination.

Established unit objectives, and formulates plans and methods for meeting overall department goals.

Responsible for planning, organization and budgeting activities associated with assigned cost center(s).

Develops, reviews, and maintains policy and procedure manuals; coordinating with various service lines within the organization to meet standards of care.

Oversees the prioritization and sequencing of radiology examinations to ensure optimal utilization of personnel, rooms and equipment.

Maintains inventory levels for stock supplies and special purchases.

Develops in conjunction with Manager, area's QPS plan and implementation strategy.

Arranges, authorizes and coordinates equipment and service maintenance expenditures.

Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as ACR, FDA and TJC.

Responsible for proactively marketing department services to local referring physicians. Confers with physicians and hospital staff to exchange patient information and ensure continuity of care.

Resolves problems with physicians, patients, audits and other departments.

Administers other projects and duties as assigned.

Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injuryaccident to Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Registered Radiologic Tech with ARRT registry in good standing

PLUS

FIVE (5) years experience in Radiology with TWO (2) of those years having been in an exisitng or previous Radiology Leadership capacity.

PREFERRED

Bachelor's degree, Associate degree in business, radiology or education or certification in field of expertise

Knowledge of computer systems/R.I.S.

Good written and oral communication skills.
